University of Oxford tops Times Higher Education Table of Tables 2022

11 January 2022

The University of Oxford has finished top of the Times Higher Education Table of Tables 2022, a ranking which combines the results of the three main UK university league tables.

Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world, finished 1st in both the Guardian University Guide and CUG, and 2nd in the Times Good University Guide. The University of St Andrews, who displaced the Oxbridge pair of Cambridge and Oxford for the first time in the Times guide, finished 3rd overall in the THE ranking. Amongst London universities, University College London rose three places to 8th, returning to the UK top 10 for the first time since 2019.

The Table of Tables 2022 is based on the combined results of the UK’s three main domestic university rankings: the Times and Sunday Times’ Good University Guide, the Guardian University Guide and The CUG.
