The University is offering a £1,000 cash bursary to support students from Colchester Sixth Form College progressing into higher education.

Eligibility

Our bursary is available for students applying for courses in the following departments who make the University of Essex their firm choice with UCAS by 19 July 2020, and register with us for the academic year 2020-21.

  • Department of History
  • Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies
  • School of Philosophy and Art History
  • Department of Economics
  • Department of Language and Linguistics
  • School of Life Sciences
  • Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies

To be eligible you must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Complete your studies at Colchester Sixth Form College in 2020
  • Make the University of Essex their firm choice with UCAS by 19 July 2020
  • Register for your first year of study for a full-time undergraduate degree course in one of the specified departments at the University of Essex in 2020-21 starting in October 2020

Students who aren't eligible

The following students are not eligible for this award regardless of meeting the above criteria:

  • Students on Higher/Degree apprenticeship course
  • Students with direct entry into the second year
  • Students studying online distance learning courses
