The Fowlie International Scholarship provides awards of up to £3,500 and a 25% reduction of tuition fees to eligible candidates planning to study a full-time postgraduate degree at Abertay University.


The Fowlie International Scholarship is a merit based scholarship where graduates will have to demonstrate their excellent academic qualities in the application form. During their postgraduate degree the student will receive two instalments of the scholarship; if they withdraw or fail semester one they will not receive the final instalment of their scholarship.

The Fowlie International Scholarship has been created thanks to the generous support from the Fowlie Family. Mrs Chris Fowlie, widow of the late Dr Hector C Fowlie, Honorary Fellow and former Court member, gifted the scholarship to outstanding postgraduate applicant(s).


To be considered for this scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must have a conditional or unconditional offer onto a full time postgraduate degree at Abertay University
  • Have either a 1 st or a 2:1 from their undergraduate degree
  • Be willing to take part in publicity materials for the scholarship if successful

The scholarship amount will depend on the fee status of the recipient; restrictions are as follows:

  • Scottish, Welsh, English, Northern Irish and EU students will receive £1,500
  • International students will receive £3,500

The recipient will also receive 25% reduction of their fees. This reduction only applies to Abertay University alumni.
